All our seeds are wild harvested from the veld around 50 villages in Sub Saharan Africa. Predominantly from Venda and Bushman Tribes.

Community is at the heart of our business. All seeds are harvested by hand, creating jobs and opportunity for the local village community. For many, remuneration from harvesting is their only income. Without these earnings, most will leave their villages, abandoning their traditions and culture for a better livelihood.

The nature of Wild Harvesting is inherently more sustainable than agricultural cultivation. There is no redirecting of rivers, building of dams or destruction of natural fauna to accommodate commercialized farming. The trees from which fruits and seeds are harvested, have been there for generations and we intend to keep it that way. Our manufacturing facility runs almost entirely off solar energy.

At Rou Organics, we don’ t let anything go to waste. Each of our byproducts are utilized to manufacture affordable animal seed, yeast, meal and many other products.
